I’m a carton of half and half this morning.
I’m up early so my body’s not shocked tomorrow morning with the shift change to days. I’d like to stick to working out in the morning before work so this means getting up at 5 am. I’d rather put up with some discomfort at the beginning of the day rather than have it on my mind that I have to workout when I get home. Plus, it gives me lots of energy for the day.

I want to get on the treadmill more days than not. Sure, I have times that I don’t want to do it and I procrastinate getting on but *I get on it* rather than talking myself out of it (as if that would make me feel better … pffft)
The food thing … well, it just astounds me that it’s become so easy and second nature for me to reach for and want the healthy choices. I’m no longer resorting to food for emotional upsets and trying times and situations. This. Is. Huge. for me. Am I tempted at times? Of course, but so much less so than in the past and usually only if there’s been a visual cue.
I have a co-worker who offers me sweets frequently and I turn him down all the time and it seems he was a bit insulted. I had to explain to him that I wasn’t rejecting him but the sweets and that I was serious and committed to losing this weight. I told him that if he had meat I could eat that without trouble. (I was kinda kidding) So guess what? The other night the boys were bbq-ing New York strip at work for dinner and he offered me some of his steak which I gladly accepted. (it was excellent, too … pink inside and so tender. Men just own the bbq) He also didn’t offer me sweets but did tell me not to lose too much weight … not all men like skinny women. I think maybe he likes me.
Anyway, things are changing for the better and I like it. Exercise isn’t second nature yet and being patient is my biggest struggle, but I hope to get better with both.

The Food:
high protein & fat ~~ low carb
1st meal ~~ 2 eggs + 1/2 cup egg whites + spinach + mushrooms + zucchini + 1/3 cup part skim mozzarella cheese + 3/4 cup almond milk + instant espresso
2nd meal ~~ steak + mushrooms + cauliflower + 1/3 cup part skim mozzarella + 1 pat butter + (1/2 cup light ricotta + 10 ground almonds + 3 tsp ground flaxseed + almond extract + splenda)
3rd meal ~~ 1/2 of a butterfly porkchop + asparagus + mushrooms + zucchini (sauteed in 1/2 tsp olive oil) + (1/2 cup light ricotta + mixed berries + splenda)
lots of water
