On Target:

1. Stop doing what hurts.
2. Don’t buy/eat food that makes you fat.
3. Laugh your ass off. :)

1. Doing quite well with this lately but it’s a constant work in progress. Procrastination, lack of the housefrau gene, envy, letting small stuff bug me … all things I have to stay on top of. Some people/things I just have to stay away from so my buttons don’t get pushed and that’s ok too. Can’t love everybody or have them love me. Hmmph.
2. I’d say I’m at 99.9% (or higher) with the food, both with buying and eating healthy stuff. :D
3. I don’t know from laughing … my ass is still there. :)

I was a little leery of eating the high fiber tortillas as I thought they might hinder my weight loss but that didn’t happen. The opposite has occurred.
My taste buds are happy, my tummy’s happy, the scale’s happy … we’re all crazy-ass happy over here! :D
Damn, I love this!


The Food:

immediately after treadmill: 2/3 c almond milk + 1 scoop protein powder + instant espresso + cocoa + splenda
1st meal ~~ egg whites + spinach + mushrooms + green onion
2nd meal ~~ 1/2 cup light ricotta + 3/4 cup mango
3rd meal ~~ chicken breast + asparagus + 1 pat butter + dijon mustard
4th meal ~~ 1 hard boiled egg + 1/3 cup lemon & dill hummus + sweet pepper strips
5th meal ~~ chicken breast + 3 high fiber tortillas + hummus + romaine + hot peppers + banana + 1/2 cup light ricotta & nutmeg + after dinner coffee with almond milk
lots of water & green tea
2 T psyllium
I have to say (yet again) that I could eat like this forever and not be bothered by it.
I love what I’m eating. I suspect that I eat better than many slim people do. Which begs the question … why do I ever go back to eating crackfood when I find this way of eating so appealing to all my senses? I think one answer is that I have done it on days where I’m feeling impatient and/or frustrated with results. Another is lack of organization & planning. If I don’t have healthy choices stocked at home, trouble brews. Yet another is letting myself get too hungry between meals. My resolve gets weakened in a famished state. Still another is being too tired to fix anything after work so I’m making sure to have simple foods like cooked chicken and boiled eggs in the fridge for an easy-grab meal. I buy frozen veggies so they’re easy to prepare. Nothing takes me longer than 10 or 15 minutes to cook. I keep things pretty simple.
Knowing all this, I’m better armed to fight off any crackfood urges I may encounter in the future.
